This is not how mature human beings behave

The other day I had an encounter with a spoiled little brat …although according to her, she was hardly a brat. Well, like a 23-year old brat ×D I would prefer to tell her this in her face, but was …unable to do it; nothing better to do here anyway, so why not blog about it a bit?

Think a little intro is required for you to get the perspective. Well, kill me; either just don’t read this paragraph or don’t read the post at all ×D Anyhow, I’ve been playing Star Wars The Old Republic for ages now. We used to have a local guild (I actually blogged [Croatian] about it like 8 years ago), but it’s been pretty-much dead for years now. I’ve been going through different guilds with different toons for the past few years, but I’ve always kept the main toon in the old guild in hopes people might start showing up again. Well, whenever I log onto that toon, there’s maybe one more person online in the guild in addition to meself and not a very talkative person at that. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago or so, I logged in to find someone online, and a talkative someone at that! Now, for the sake of argument, let’s just call that someone Alma.

I managed to talk Alma in joining my current guild (very nice people in there 🙂). One evening I even stayed up quite long to invite all her toons to the Imperial guild. Note that, anyone could have done that, but she wanted me to do it. We were planning to do a mission together for some time, but never managed to synchronize our timetables ×D Once she actually fucked me up good without touching my dick by a milimetre ×D but never mind that. Anyhow, one evening we started the so much planned mission …and, well managed to do five minutes tops, when the bitch left the mission, stopped talking to me, blocked me and soon afterwards left the guild and discord servers (hence me blogging instead of telling this to her face ×D ). So what happened? She wanted to skip everything (cinematics, dialogues and whatever). I wanted to hear the story ’cause it had been ages since I’d done the mission before, so I told her mkay, I wanna hear the story, so I’m gonna skip as soon as I read/hear what they’re saying. Well, needless to say, little Alma didn’t like that… Now, Alma before trashing your spoiled little ass, like you deserve, lemme apologize if you lied about your age and you actually are like 13 years old. I mean, your spoiled behaviour is still inexcusable, but at least it can be understood in that case. Anyhow, who the FUCK do you think you are for everything to be exactly the way you want?! Not willing to compromise one bit or at least tell me why it’s so bloody important for you to skip bloody everything… This is how spoiled brats in puberty behave; not mature people. Although we understand and tolerate such a behaviour in puberty, we nevertheless chide kids because it’s unacceptable and we certainly don’t encourage such a behaviour. You told me you’d left a guild because of an argument. Well, if you behaved like that, no wonder. At least, you had sense enough to leave us before we kicked you for spoiled behaviour. Of course, it’s possible you hadn’t had the sense with the previous guild and they actually kicked you. In which case, you kinda learned a lesson; but a better lesson to learn would be to change your bloody behaviour rather than fleeing guilds before you show your true colours.

Oh, I’ve been kidding with a guildy how women can be bitchy during PMS. Before, you conclude that’s just some geeky macho talk, the guildy in question is a woman ×D Anyhow, nope, PMS ain’t an accuse. I’m frequently in pain and I don’t jump around at people. If I feel moody, cranky or whatever, I avoid contact. I certainly don’t agree to do something with someone, only to jump at them and vent all my frustrations at them… Well, at the very least, if you do such a thing, you can say you’re sorry afterwards, you were just pissed at the world and overreacted; you know something that tends to work best when you don’t brake all the contact whatsoever…

A little digression: Alma and I did one mission together before the planned mission. A weird guy – to say the least – did that one with us and Alma immediately said she wouldn’t do any more mission with him which is her prerogative and, well, I mean the guy wouldn’t even revive his fallen comrades! Anyhow, just before going all haywire, Alma told me that I was “worse” than that guy. Well, Alma, the guy in question might be weird and if you ask me he does behave a bit childishly, but not like a spoiled brat. So I may be “worse” than him, but we’re both better than you, which makes you…,

Well, that’s it,
Take care, cheers and skål!

Smash champions

Super Smash Bros are without a question the best games mankind has ever created.

Unfortunately, no Smash has been released for computer yet and knowing Nintendo none will ever be.

Luckily, there are good Nintendo 64, Game Cube and Nintendo Wii emulators although Wii emulation requires a powerful machine.
Let’s stick to the other two then. Nintendo 64 emulators (Project64 is by far the best) work perfectly on pretty much every machine today and since neither the game nor the emulator (Project64 anyway) take much space (20 MB altogether tops), I suggest you keep N64 Smash on every computer just in case 😉

Now, the most important is Smash Melee for Game Cube since Game Cube emulation is pretty good on modern computers (you still might get a lag or two here and there though). The best emulator – well, the one I use anyway – is Dolphin. Yes, Dolphin, can emulate Nintendo Wii too, but I wouldn’t suggest trying it unless you have a pretty damn good machine. Especially since there’s no need. There’s a ton of good Game Cube games. When it comes to Smash, sure, Brawl is better, but Melee has it all too – great graphics, a lot of characters and maps (less than Brawl though 😦 )

I mentioned a lot of characters and maps, but when you start the game, you won’t say so.

Screeny1

Screeny2

The question marks suggest that there are maps and characters that can be unlocked. True, actually there are more characters and maps to unlock than the question marks in the screenies 😀

So, how to unlock them?
By playing single-player and winning, of course. But that takes a lot of time, especially if you’re a fellow like me, who just wants to Smash with his friends! In addition, if you’re playing the game on a computer, you need to “clean” emulator settings (meaning game saves too) from time to time to keep the thing running on peek efficiency. Furthermore, Dolphin v4 (currently the latest stable version of Dolphin) keeps its settings in the user folder, meaning that if you want to have unlocked characters and/or maps, you have to to copy Dolphin settings – which may not always be accessible –  to every account on which you intend to Smash with unlocked stuff.

So, let’s look for an alternative. There is one, at least if you’re running the game on Dolphin.

This is how the main Dolphin window looks like:

Dolphin1

Go to Options\Configure… or just click Config icon. Checkmark Enable Cheats in the General tab. Then go to Paths tab, click on the big Add.. button and find the path to the folder with Smash

Dolphin2Dolphin3
D: \ Igre \ Game Cube is the folder where I keep my Game Cube games, including Smash (igre meaning games)

Click OK.

The main Dolphin window should suddenly look something like this:

Dolphin4

Right click on SUPERSMASH BROS. Melee and go to Properties.

Dolphin5

Now, go to AR Codes tab and checkmark the following codes:
Open All Characters,
Metroidy Level,
City rooftops level,
During F-Zero race,
On top giant pokemon,
Mario Bros style level,
Game and Watch level,
Platforms in starfield 1 level,
Platforms in starfield 2 level,
Level with ‘windy’ tree,
Yoshi’s story level,
Dusk jungle level.

Press Close when you’re done.

Dolphin6

Now, start the game and press Start how many times it takes to confirm everything you’ve “unlocked”. Wait a moment till the emulator saves new settings (a yellow message saying that things were saved should appear on top of the screen).

Now, stop the emulation, return to the game Properties, uncheckmark all the cheats you checkmarked before and click Close. Your unlocks were saved so you don’t need the cheats any more. Furthermore, if you leave them on, the game might get buggy.

Start the game again and commence Smashing with any character on any map 😀
Character and map selection should look something like this now:

Screeny3

Screeny4

There, I told you how to make full epicness of an epic game on computer. Concerned about the term cheat? Well, you can always unlock stuff the old fashioned way 🙂

Red Squad

O igri Star Wars The Old Republic

Riječ je o MMORPG igri smještenoj u Star Wars galaksiji. Dio je serijala Knights of the Old Republic (KoTR) (treći nastavak).

Do sad me nikad nisu razočarali.

Continue reading

Orion (AO nation)

As said yesterday, I’ll post more about Orion today.

I meant to write the crap down, but, believe it or not, I used my brain this time – here’s a screeny Caesar the NPC so kindly gave me:

Just note that guild (nation) level is constantly changing. Likewise, guild leaders and COs often change and the control over a town can be changed.

Just like guild leaders, nation kings can change [e.g. the previous king was Barnak (i.e. the leader of SolidGold) and the king is always the leader of the leading guld]. However, Cass has been our boss for a long time and until the Reapers are the leaders of Orion (should be only temporary), I doubt the queen of Orion is going to change.

Reapers

Not that I’m bragging, but the Reaper guild of Atlantica Online on Argos server became the leading guild of Orion nation last Saturday – ahha-yeah
Really, shouldn’t be bragging ’cause I did shit for the guild to become the leading guild. The boss was quite surprised when she became the queen of Orion; something that the leaders of the Reapers and SolidGold (founders of Orion and leading guild till last Sat) are in close relations.

Anyway, check out the guild on Xfire: http://www.xfire.com/communities/rgon/

Not that I’m bragging further, but here’s some basic info:
Guild level: 110 (constantly changing)
Controlled town: Vancouver
Nation: leaders of Orion
Guild leader / Nation queen: cassandra48
Guild CO: Aeroz

I’ll probably post info about Orion soon.

Jedi Academy a dying game?

Four years ago, when I was a member of a Jedi Academy clan, I remember there was a post about Jedi Academy being a dying game ’cause it was really old (back then, it was 4 years old) and that there were only like 500 servers left (I guess there had been a lot more at the beginning).

True, games like Modern Warfare have a lot more servers, but 500 is not a small number either, especially for a four year old game.

Four more years have passed now (yeah, the game is twice as old now as it was back then) and I can’t say that the number of servers hasn’t dropped since ’cause I’ve hardly numbered the servers, but the fact is that Xfire still lists a lot of Jedi Academy servers. I just took a little look through them – there are like dozens of different clans. Probably a lot more ’cause Xfire doesn’t list all the servers (it does most, but not all) and these were just the ones with an obvious clan name (e.g. EK clan server; there are like a lot of servers with the beginning of the name ………………………………………).

Anyway, how the hell can an eight year old game with a fair number of servers and clans be dying?

EFF (JKA clan)

Now, a little info for Jedi Academy players:

EFF clan has been quite popular for some time now. Got a buddy there and they seemed just fine. However, I was just on their server and they allowed a guy with a nick Hitler to play with them. That’s unthinkable in the modern world – everybody knows how evil this product of family inbreeding was. What’s funny is that they got that shit no laming, but they allow sick fucks like this guy to play.

Well, when I joined the server, I said hi and and, hitler, fuck u. The guy (and everybody else) acted like what the hell am I talking about. Well, I humoured them once and said how Hitler killed millions just for being different upon which this sick fuck of a gamer told me those were all lies, that Hitler had “no choice”…

Anyway, to sum it all up – STAY AWAY FROM EFF!!!

P.S. I find it strange that nazi scum would even play a Star Wars game. I mean, Star Wars Galaxy is full of different species and races…

Bots and other hacks

Since ROLF (Atlantica) guild was kicked from Orion nation because of botting, I wanna write a word or two about bots and other hacks.

A bot is an online game hack which automatically fights, heals and does quests while you’re AFK. Now, like all the hacks, bot is illegal. But is it really so evil?

I’ll give examples of games.

Silkroad Online (2012/4/10)

I haven’t played Silkroad for ages, so I can only say how things were back when I played.

Silkroad is a “free” MMORPG. Yeah, I used the quotation marks for a reason(s). You can download the game for free and play for free. However, Joymax (the game developer) favours the paying players in the following ways: normal levelling speed and instant access to a server (back when I played, servers used to be crowded all the time and sometimes it took 12 hours to enter a server).

Levelling speed is the main reason people use bots for Silkroad – levelling your character up is just too slow for nonpaying players – people used to compensate for that by leaving the bot fight and thus collect experience points while they do IRL stuff. Another reason is that (if you don’t pay Joymax) the frequency of dead mobs dropping the items required for a quest is just too small – a bot collects items that are usually too rare to wait for.

When good bots stopped being free, the number of Silroad players seriously dropped (that’s when I stopped playing). Joymax is officially against bots. But, seriously, I doubt that good bots (which are not free now*) are managed without underground help of Joymax. If there weren’t any bots, Silkroad would not have any players. Some of those players often decide to become paying players so they can enjoy the benefits paying players have. Joymax, thus, makes money.

There’s another hack Silkroad players use, or used to use. As I said if you are a nonpaying player, sometimes, you can’t connect for hours. Joymax closes the game every time the server rejects you making you start the game all over again every now and then making you pay them to avoid losing nerves and wasting time. Yeah, a really cheap shot. Anyway, there is (or was ×D ) a hack preventing the game to close and even keep trying to join automatically whenever there’d be some room on the server (yes, you could wait 12 hours even then) – the trick is (was) to start the game and the hack when you wake up and play in the afternoon or the evening depending on when you join the server. If you manage to join early, you set your bot to do stuff till you join.

Atlantica Online (2012/4/10)

Now this is the game I’ve played for past 9 months (I’m in the game auto-crafting even now).

Unlike Silkroad, it’s free for all – levelling speed is acceptable and the same for all, everyone has an instant access to servers and the item drop frequency is just fine. It really seems there’s no need for a bot.

There is a catch though. Items ingame cost billions of gold, which is often difficult to earn. However, there’s Item Mall where you can buy items for real money at acceptable prices. This is favouring people who have money. Well, the definite advantages of Atlantica are – no monthly fee and no obligation to use Item Mall regularly (you can use the mall when you have some spare money and then not use it for years without losing your game character). Back to the item prices now – you can buy a rare item easily in Item Mall and then sell it for billions of gold ingame thus making a lot of ingame gold in very short time.

I’m one of the few level 98 players who doesn’t own an ingame house. The gold I’ve earned (and gotten from donations ×D ), I spent for upgrading my formation (yeah, that can be über expensive without Item Mall). You do collect gold every time you kill a mob, but that’s nothing. In that way, a bot would be useful – you can set it to kill mobs and collect the little gold from mobs while you do IRL stuff. I guess I would use a decent money hack to buy meself a house and, prolly, a mount (I wouldn’t be that ambitious to go for an ent though, but seriously 200 mil for a simple horse that only speeds up your movement and doesn’t improve your stats one bit…).

Anyway, don’t worry boss. If I decide to use a bot, I’ll leave the guild myself. I don’t wanna make trouble with Barnak to the guild. Basically, I don’t wanna make the guild another ROFL 😀 You guys are kind enough to keep despite me playing for shit.

DC Universe Online (2012/4/10)

DC is a superhero MMORPG I play from time to time. I like Marvel more too, but hey, DC is free 😀 I can’t really judge hacking of this game (if there is any hacking at all), since I don’t play it a lot.

Anyway there are three levels (I think) of players – nonpaying players and two levels of paying players (cheaper, and the one that costs more)

Sony Online Entertainment (the developer of DC) is, unlike Joymax, decent enough to openly say the limitations of nonpaying players and doesn’t favour the paying players. Nonpaying players have instant access to servers and level up at normal speed. A limitation I’ve noticed is the league (equivalent of a guild) creation – only paying players can create leagues.

In the little time I’ve played the game, I saw no reason to bot; but as I said, I can’t judge the hacking of this game, since I haven’t played a lot.

*If there is a decent free bot for Silkoroad, please email me at nelandir@hotmail.com. I might start playing the game again though I doubt it ’cause I don’t have time for both Atlantica and Silkroad, and Silkroad is not turn based nor does it have strategic elements. Generally, I don’t like strategies (too much work, too little fight), but Atlantica has just enough strategic elements to make the game more interesting. Another thing, the de facto spoken language in Silkroad is Turkish, which I don’t speak. Almost everyone in Atlantica speak English, at least on Argos, the server I play on.

Server Maintenance (AO)

Rudeness of Nexon continues:
A server maintenance of Atlantica should’ve lasted  3 hours (7 AM PST  – 10 AM PST). That’s pure bull shit, of course. Half an hour after the maint should have ended (10:30 AM PST), the bastards “kindly” informed players that the maint would be extended till 11 AM PST. And “western” people criticize people from the Balkans… Knowing Nexon, the maint might be over at 11 AM. Just not February 16, but February 17, possibly 2013.

The official message

P.S. The maint was announced just a few hours before it would commence, as usual, not caring for worldwide players at all. It wouldn’t be the first time Nexon faked the time and date of a post, so you can’t count on the website. You just have to rely on people checking the site around the time maint is supposed to be.
P.P.S. It’s 11 now. Guess what? The maint is ongoing.
